At $10, was my first Ipsy #glambag worth it?
Now I know as a so called beauty blogger, I am late on the gravy train when it comes to Ipsy and their beloved Glambag. Now for those of you who, like myself, who have not ventured into the world of Ipsy. They are known for a monthly subscription bag that retails for $10.00. Each month you receive a cute pouch and 5 beauty products that are selected based on your responses to a questionnaire. Now the big question is, is the Ipsy #glambag worth it?
The first item that caught my attention was the Model Co. Blush since I wanted to see what color I received.
Now the original blush retails for $22.00 and contains a Net wt.8g. It is available in three shades: Peach Bellini, Cosmopolitan and Sunset.
The sample I received contains 3.5g of product and would have a rough value of $9.60.
The next item in my bag was a full size nail polish from the brand Pretty Women.
The polish retails for $7.99
I also received a full sized Coloured Raine Lip Stain in the color “Mars”.
This is a dusty rose Liquid Lip Paint that dries matte and retails for $17.00.
I was excited to see a sample size of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream because I have never used it before.
The full size bottle contains 1 fl. oz./ 30 ml and retails for $30.00.
The sample size I received contains 0.25 fl.oz / 7.1 ml and should therefore retail around $7.50.
Finally, I received two sheet masks from the brand Loverecipe. I got the both the Aloe Mask and Acai Berry Mask. I’ve never heard of this brand before and had a difficult time finding a retail value. The closest I got was a site that showed they were sold out and retailed for $1.50 each.
I haven’t tried any of the products I received in my Ipsy #Glambag, so I am not reviewing the bag based on quality. I can say however that Ipsy does a good job at introducing you two both Indie and Mainstream brands. For retailing at $10.00 a month, I am pleased to say my Ipsy #Glambag has a total retail value of $45.00. So you do get quite a few items for only $10.00.
What do you think, is Ipsy worth it? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
