Josie Maran “Color of Summer” contains 4 travel size multi-purpose sticks. First and foremost, the rose gold packaging is adorable. They are conveniently sized for sticking in your purse or make-up bag without feeling weighted down. The tints can be used as either a blush, lipstick or highlighter; each providing a natural glow. Overall, the colors are a perfect add on to one’s collection for summer. Rather than deep harsh tones, these four truly provide a glowing effect.

Josie Maran is known for using 100% Argan oil, therefore you are also moisturizing your skin with each application. Unfortunately, they did not feel as moisturizing seeing as the sticks felt very dry. (I’m not sure if I just received a dry batch). The application created a tugging effect on my skin, which did not feel pleasant. Once applied, the tint left my skin feeling tacky, which is the last thing I need once summer starts to simmer.

These small sticks provide a strong color payoff. I cannot account for the way they wear over time. I would have probably put up with everything I’ve stated thus far but along with all of their cons, their smell was by far the worst. All four sticks come with a very strong Rosemary scent. Personally, I lean more towards sweeter less herbal scents and therefore decided to return this product. This product seems to work well with all skin colors and is in the perfect on-the-go size. What I do like most is the color payoff making my decision to return it rather disappointing. If you are someone who does like the smell of Rosemary, this will become a true summer favorite.
