Similar to Hourglass, BECCA cosmetics is known for their line of fancy highlighters. Their full size Shimmering Skin Perfectors come in five shades: Pearl, Moonstone, Opal, Topaz and Rose Gold. I was rather hesitant in purchasing their full size 1.17 oz. highlighter at $41.00.
During the holiday’s BECCA released their limited edition Glow to Go kit that includes three mini sized (0.17 ea.) highlighters: Opal, Gold Champagne and Pearl. Of the three, Gold Champagne is limited edition.
This set, BECCA: Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlights, is a perfect way to test the waters without the commitment or cost of purchasing a full sized tube.
Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlights retails for $25.00
Although sold out at Sephora, you can still manage to grab this set on Ulta’s and BECCA’s website.
Each highlighter comes in a clear tube, a golden cap and a doe foot applicator; similar to a fancy lip gloss tube. All together the packaging does not look or feel cheap.
I enjoyed their packaging as the applicator provides accuracy when highlighting ones cheekbones, nose, cupid’s bow, etc.
The highlighters are cream based providing adequate dry time for bending. With a delicate hand this is very buildable, just be careful not to remove existing products. Seeing as it is a cream, you may want to use a setting powder.
Opal: gold rose finish
Champagne Gold: versatile yellow
Pearl: white
Disclaimer: The highlighters do contain titanium dioxide and parabens. Personally, I do not mind products with titanium dioxide. For those of you who prefer unscented products, you may want to steer clear of these sun screen scented babies.
Disclaimers aside, these highlighters provide a beautiful uplifting finish to even the most dreary of faces. As a person with limited sleep, these suckers require very little effort to transform my pale lifeless face into my inner goddess…who gets 8 hours of sleep.
I’ve heard positive things about these Becca Skin Perfectors. I was eyeing this before the holidays because of other blogger recommendations, but I thought I would never get the chance to get these myself. It seems that these are not actually limited edition (to which I’m thankful of). Thank you for the review! 🙂
