From the creative brains of Nonie Creme, Founding Creative Director of Butter London, emerges her latest beauty endeavor, Nonie Creme Colour Prevails. Found only at Walgreens, the cosmetics line includes nail polish, foundation, lip products and eye shadow palettes under $20.00.
The collection’s packaging has a whimsical moth motif, but don’t be fooled. The packaging isn’t simply made for aesthetics, but a mix of ergonomics and practicality. Something that cannot be said for most items branded as “drugstore”.
The Eye Shimmer collection includes 12 shades. Each Eye Shimmer contains 0.12 oz of product and retails for $10.00. For reference, MAC eyeshadows contains 0.04 oz of product and retails for $10.o0.
The consistency of the powder is a soft, finely milled shimmer (not glitter) which both blends well and is buildable. I found the sponge tip applicator provided a precise application but also found it messy when trying to grab more product.
Below is a quick look of the Bronze Eye Shimmer blended out and then packed on.
As you can see, the Bronze Eye Shimmer is gorgeous and can be used for either a wash of color or a bold dramatic look, further emphasizing the brand’s versatility.
Overall, I was pleased with the overall performance of the eyeshadow. I love the shimmer’s color payoff and its ability to both blend and work with other products. However, the eyeshadow did have fallout, which is expected in a shimmer product. I also would have preferred the packaging to be in jar. Yes, the ergonomic packaging is beautiful and practical if you’re someone who applies makeup in the car. But, and I feel the big but here is it creates a mess and the packaging isn’t sensible. If you are the type of person that hates using concealers or lip glosses that don’t allow you to use the entire product, this you might not like this. Personal preferences aside, if you’re decision is based solely on beauty and performance, I would recommend this product.
