The new NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick has been the most highly anticipated NYX item this year. If you’ve been following beauty trends you know that liquid lipsticks are the new “it” thing. Which comes to my surprise that NYX issued such a late release.
This is not to say that the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick has been missing from social media. Since Generation Beauty back in May we’ve seen glimpses and finally, we can purchase one for ourselves.
The NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks retail for $7.00 and contain only .13 oz of product. For point of reference the traditional NYX Intense Butter Gloss and Soft Matte Lip Cream both contain .27 oz of product and retail for $6.00.
The collection comes in 12 extremely vibrant, bold, highly pigmented shades. Similar to Too Faced Melted Lipsticks the NYX Liquid Suede Lip Creams are for those who want bold intense lips. Of the collection, I purchased two lippies: Life’s a Beach and Sway.
Life’s a Beach is a bright coral pink whereas Sway is a cool toned white based pale violet.
Each wand comes with a long double sided doe applicator. Personally, I am not a fan of the style but I was able to achieve a precise application w/o the need of a lip liner or lipstick brush.
As you can see from the swatches above, the color and pigmentation are incredible. It doesn’t apply splotchy. Unlike other liquid lipsticks, this formula does take a few minutes to dry and thus is very forgiving when applying. You are able to apply the product on your lips and play with it until you reach your desired look. I would even say you could use this to create ombre lips. Although this is advertised as a matte lipstick, I would consider the formulas inconsistent throughout the shades. Sway and Life’s a Beach lean more towards a semi-matte whereas Soft-Spoken is a true matte. Overall the formula is very comfortable to wear and lasts on average 4 hours (constant water drinking) and am very pleased. I love these Liquid Lipsticks because they are a great drugstore alternative to higher end brands allowing me the opportunity to try fun shades. I only wished they were released earlier.
Have you guys tried the new NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks?
