Last month I had the pleasure of attending Velvet 59 x Impressions Vanity’s, “The Master Collaboration”. The Master Collaboration took place in an intimate setting at the Impressions Vanity Store.
Both experienced and novice Makeup Artist would benefit from taking Paris Manning’s class. Since topics ranged from common courtesy to Makeup Artist Etiquette and techniques.
Manning explained she preferred focusing her time on applying foundation. You want your foundation to look good. If your foundation looks good, the rest of your makeup will look good.
The second segment of the Master Class was a Q&A with 9 Highly successful Makeup Artists. Each artist had different paths to finding success but they all shared three common things: passion, hard work and dedication.
Finally, I was so excited to receive such a wonderful goodie bag.
Overall, the most important lesson I learned at the class was to believe in yourself and to have confidence. The lesson might be simple, but Makeup whether you apply it on yourself or on others is Artwork. I know you don’t need to pay for a class to know Confidence is important, but it’s refreshing to see Artists who have made it experience similar feelings of insecurities.
