Have you ever walked into Sephora and purchase an item solely on packaging? Well, that happened to me when I saw the “Too Cool For School Egg Cream Masks”. The “Egg Cream Masks” are undeniably cute. I was also immediately intrigued that the product contained egg. Egg whites are known for having a natural astringent that tightens and diminishes the appearance of pores. However, I’ll be the last person to crack open an egg and make a DIY mask. I consider the process of touching raw eggs gross. (This is however my personal opinion; if you can stomach a DIY egg mask – go for it!). Luckily for me, Too Cool For School, a Korean Beauty brand, created an innovative, trendy way to apply eggs on ones face; introducing the “Egg Cream Mask” – a sheet mask.
The “Egg Cream Mask” series focuses on three skin concerns: Hydration, Pore Tightening and Firming. They retail individually for $6.00 or $24.00 purchased in a pack of five.
The sheet mask is made of delicate, thick microfiber. It is very soft and absorbent and far from other sheet masks that are a thin piece of paper. I was surprised to find the amount of serum in this product. You could definitely use the excess serum on your hands or neck. I would have loved to know this the first time I used it. Instead I spilled serum all over my counter.
The “Egg Cream Mask” is easy to use. First, remove the mask from the packaging. Beware of spilling the serum. Then, delicately unfold the mask and gently remove the plastic mesh. Apply the sheet to your face and keep it on for ten to twenty minutes. After the time is up, remove the mask and allow the extra serum to dry; massage if desired.
The “Egg Cream Mask Pore Tightening” is a microfiber sheet mask infused with egg extract and vinegar. It is designed to diminish the appearance of pores targeted for those with large pores, oily skin and blemishes. I unfortunately, disliked the “Pore Tightening” Mask. It does have a stronger floral fragrance compared to the “Hydrating Mask”. If you have sensitive skin the scent may cause irritation. After using the mask for twenty minutes I found it left my skin very dry. I would only recommend this face mask if you have oily skin.
The “Egg Cream Mask – Hydration” is infused with egg extracts, coconut water and niacinamide. It is perfect for dryness, dullness, uneven texture, dark spots and uneven skin tones. The “Hydrating Mask” unlike the “Pore Tightening Mask” can be used by any skin type. I personally enjoyed this mask the most and would definitely repurchase the pack of five.
Would you use an Egg Cream Mask? If you have in the past, I would love to hear your thoughts!
