With every purchase comes a sample of shampoo, conditioner, face cream, serum, primer, sunblock or just about anything else that could possibly fit into a foil packet. As purchases accumulate, so do the amount of untouched samples locked away in a drawer; my Sea of Samples.
My perpetual shopping tendencies do not begin to explain such an unspeakable collection. What once was a shopping treat became a pile of neglected products far too many to finish.
It’s a pretty common belief that items left un-touched for a period of time never really earned my attention. Seeing as I gravitate towards the items I like, is it possible they would never be used?
My initial response upon seeing what became of such a collection was to trash or donate the entire mess. With such little time, why bother? But with further thought, I remembered that subscription companies charge $10 for a monthly box full of the very items I was eager to lose.
And just like that, I changed my mind. For the month of October, #Octoberchallenge seemed perfect and simple; a sample a day.
Great idea! I also like to save samples for when I travel:) It is a great way to lighten up your load and try new products!
